FAQ
Use professional field-tested resume templates that follow the exact Resume rules employers look for.
Create ResumeIf you’re applying for a Lowes cashier job in the US, you should use a resume, not a CV. US hiring managers expect a 1-page, skills-focused, ATS-friendly resume that highlights cashier experience, transaction accuracy, and customer service results.
A CV is only appropriate if you’re applying for retail roles in the UK or regions where CVs are standard. In those markets, employers expect a more detailed, multi-section document covering full work history, training, and retail experience.
Using the wrong format can immediately signal inexperience with hiring norms and hurt your chances—even if you’re qualified. Below is exactly how to choose the right format, structure it correctly, and position yourself like a top candidate.
The distinction isn’t just length—it’s how hiring decisions are made in each market.
Short, targeted, and results-driven
Typically 1 page for cashier roles
Optimized for ATS systems and high-volume screening
Focuses on skills, metrics, and recent experience
Designed for fast decision-making by recruiters
More detailed and history-based
Typically 2 pages or more
Includes full work history and training
Highlights customer service depth and retail knowledge
Used where employers expect comprehensive background
In the US, recruiters reviewing Lowes cashier applications are scanning for:
Speed and accuracy handling transactions
Customer service consistency under pressure
POS system familiarity
Reliability and shift flexibility
Retail environment experience
A resume format supports this fast evaluation. A CV slows it down—and can hurt your chances.

This improves ATS ranking significantly.
Use this to avoid confusion:
If the job is in the US → Use a resume
If the posting says “resume” → Use a resume
If the job is in the UK → Use a CV
If unsure → Match the language in the job posting
For Lowes cashier roles in the US, a resume is the correct and expected format. It should be short, results-focused, and optimized for fast screening.
A CV is only appropriate when applying in markets where detailed work history and training are expected.
Choosing the right format isn’t optional—it directly impacts whether your application gets reviewed or ignored.
